Classic Vbar

It is simple and strong. There are no moving parts. The standard length is 8 feet, but for many cars, it is hard to center the bar on the crossbars without hitting the open tailgate of a SUV or hatchback. Please see “Hatchback Special” if you own a hatchback. Short SUVs with a lifgate can consider a shorter bar. 7 feet is plenty for a 21 foot boat (just leave a note to get shorter lengths). Or consider the Hatchback Special. Please be aware that we offer “lazy Vs”, (extra wide Vs). These Vs are literally just bent further to accommodate a wider hull. Putting a boat over 18 inches wide may ride too high in the Vs. Sea kayaks are the exception. Due to their shorter length they rest nearer to the ends where it is narrower.  Lazy Vs are available as a no cost option and are often only needed in the rear. Full comp Kayaks, OC1s, shells, sea kayaks and hi kneel canoes fit best in the standard Vs. Intermediate and rec boats will do better with Lazy Vs.  Not sure?  Ask us. We speak boat here.
